The Bows is a dedicated artist-run centre located in Mohkíinstsis (Calgary, Alberta), situated on Treaty 7 Territory. Established in 1994, we focus on supporting early-career artists through affordable studio space and the presentation of their work. Our mission extends to broadening the scope of contemporary art in Calgary, inviting community engagement with critical contemporary issues.
We take pride in being a cultural hub in the heart of Calgary, fostering a collaborative atmosphere for creativity and innovation. With 30 years of experience, our organization has evolved to provide not just physical space but also the essential community structures that artists need to thrive. Our programming includes major exhibitions, workshops, and public talks, all designed to amplify diverse artistic voices in our city.
