Werklund Centre is the heart of Calgary’s vibrant performing arts scene, having evolved from the historical Arts Commons. Founded by visionary women who paved the way for the city's artistic landscape, the centre now stands as a testament to innovation and creativity. With roots dating back to 1970, we celebrate our growth into the largest cultural campus in Canada, designed to foster connections between artists and audiences.
Located in Calgary's cultural district, Werklund Centre is home to several resident companies, including Alberta Theatre Projects and the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra. Together, we present a wide array of performances, from humbling plays to grand musical spectacles, enriching the community with unforgettable experiences. We invite you to join us in building a future where art inspires and connects us all.
