The Winnipeg Comedy Festival, founded in 2002 by Lara Rae and Tom Anniko in partnership with the Gas Station Arts Centre, is a key fixture in Winnipeg's vibrant arts scene. Originating as just one festival, it has now grown into a flagship event that not only showcases top comedic talent but also fosters emerging voices through various outreach programs and workshops.
With a legacy of 25 years filled with laughter, the festival has attracted over 2 million viewers annually, making it CBC Television’s highest-rated comedy festival series. By attending and supporting the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, you're not just experiencing great comedy—you're also helping nurture local artists and strengthening Winnipeg's cultural community.
